How little I know
I've been posting 12 Degrees of Freedom for just over five years now. I can still recall the evening when I decided to plow ahead and create this blog. The comprehensive, whole systems problem solving approach based on Synergetic Geometry developed by Buckminster Fuller was my inspiration and continues to be so.
I must say that posting the daily blog and developing a modest following of dedicated readers has been much more gratifying than I expected. However, the blog format does not allow me to explore and share the valuable insights into the working of systems I have gained as a result of my exposure to the depth and breadth of Bucky's geometry of thinking. I have been very fortunate in being able to apply that learning in a variety of contexts over the past 36 years - all focusing on some aspect of sustainable development.
That frustration provided the impetus to develop a companion Web site: "12 Degrees of Freedom". As I worked on it I was constantly reminded of the title of one of Bucky's prose poems "How little I know". I hope you'll take a minute or two to check it out. I have designed it to be an evolving, dynamic site. For example, scrolling your mouse over many of the graphics will allow you to delve a little deeper into a particular topic.
I don't consider myself to be an "expert" on Bucky's extraordinary body of work. I am, however an expert on how I have interpreted and applied what I have learned as a self-directed learner of Synergetics.
I will continue posting this blog as I work on fine-tuning and evolving the Web site. Your feedback is most welcome.
Thanks for your continued interest in helping to make a world that works for everyone.
